2014-2015 Infiniti Q50 Gets Bolt-On Performance with K&N Dual Air Intake System
- 21 Aug 2015
The Infiniti Q50 sport sedan was introduced as a replacement for the Infiniti G-series sedan models. The Q50 replaced the G37 as part of a new restructured naming convention for the Infiniti brand. All passenger car names begin with a Q now, while SUV and Crossover model names begin with QX. The 2014-2015 Infiniti Q50 comes well equipped, including a powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, cutting-edge technology, a luxurious interior and sharp exterior styling. That’s not to say the factory design cannot be improved upon. Owners of the 2014 and 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 liter can bolt on increased performance and save on maintenance costs with a K&N® dual air intake system featuring world-famous K&N washable & reusable air filters.
K&N engineers knew that with their expertise these luxury sport sedans from Infiniti are capable of more. Much consideration was put into the design of part number 69-7083TS for the 2014-2015 Infiniti Q50 sedans with a 3.7L V6 engine. The stock intake tract uses a dual intake set up fed by dual air boxes and air filters. K&N intake 69-7083TS replaces stock components with twin powder coated mandrel-bent aluminum intake tubes and dual K&N High-Flow Air Filters for superior airflow and superior performance. 69-7083TS incorporates two unique heat shields which serve to isolate the dual air filters from the warm air under the hood. This intake system provides improved performance and attractive silver powder coated aluminum Intake tubes to match the color of the engine bay.
The result of this hard work and enthusiasm for performance is estimated at over 6 additional horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. K&N’s Research and Development Department tested a 2014 Infiniti Q50 with a 3.7L V6 engine on our in-house dynamometer. Results showed horsepower increases throughout the entire RPM range which improves drivability at almost any speed. This air intake system uses two conical shaped high-flow air filters. K&N clamp on air filter, part number RU-4960XD, captures harmful particles, flows a large amount of air, and provides long service intervals. This K&N air intake system and air filters will perform for up to 100,000 miles before service is required, depending on driving conditions.
In addition, K&N offers a RX-4990DK Drycharger® filter wrap that can be used in conjunction with part number 69-7083TS. Drycharger filter wraps are durable pre-filters that are designed to filter large dirt particles and thus extend the time before the main air filter needs to be cleaned. These wraps can repel water while adding very little restriction to the airflow of the filter. The wraps specifically designed for this intake’s air filters are available in black, blue, red, and yellow. K&N Infiniti Q50 air intake, number 69-7083TS, is a complete intake system which should take about 90 minutes to install with common hand tools. It uses stock mounting points, requires no drilling, and is covered by a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. K&N air intake 69-7083TS is designed to provide a guaranteed increase in horsepower for the following Infiniti models: 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7L V6 F/I Find K&N products for your vehicle using the K&N Application Search then use the K&N Dealer Search to find a K&N dealer in your part of the world.
