2016 Red Bull Frozen Rush to Include K&N Sponsored Pro4 Truck Driver Carl Renezeder
- 4 Jan 2016
Three short years ago, Red Bull, makers of the highest-selling energy drink in the world, decided to challenge the elements and set up a race course designed to take Pro-4 racing to the limits. K&N air filters sponsored racer Carl Renezeder along with eight of the best Off Road Racers took their Pro-4 trucks to Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry, Maine, to compete in the inaugural Red Bull Signature Series, Frozen Rush. The Red Bull Frozen Rush puts short course off-road racers to the test as they compete on the snow and ice of the Sunday River Ski Resort. Other than set-up adjustments, and one-off spiked tires made for the Frozen Rush, these trucks are identical to those they race in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing series. By invitation only, nine professional off-road truck drivers will again travel to Newry, Maine to take part in the third running of the Red Bull Frozen Rush event.
The 2015 Red Bull Frozen Rush course featured extreme jumps, eight-foot tall berms, various obstacles, 50 foot gaps, and bracket-style elimination racing for the trophy. The 2016 Red Bull Frozen Rush course also promises to be exciting and challenging for these fearless drivers, by combining speed with snow and insane 150ft jumps. Adding other factors such as frozen hands, a numb face, and poor visibility to the mix means these drivers, as well as their machines, will have to be on top of their game. Friday, January 8, 2016, K&N air filters sponsored Pro4 LOORRS driver Carl Renezeder will once again drive his Championship winning truck through some of the craziest terrain possible. Carl Renezeder will attempt to conquer the snow and ice to bring the coveted Frozen Rush trophy home with him to sunny California. Renezeder is looking forward to taking his K&N filters equipped Pro 4 short course truck to the limit and challenging himself and his crew to win in the frigid hills of Maine. K&N sponsored Bryce Menzies will return to defend his 2015 Red Bull Frozen Rush title against eight elite challengers, including the 2014 inaugural Frozen Rush winner Ricky Johnson. The 2016 Red Bull Frozen Rush drivers will practice on Wednesday, January 6th with qualifying on Thursday, January 7th. The Red Bull Frozen Rush racing action will take place Friday, January 8th and can be watched live on January 8 at 11:30 a.m. ET on Red Bull TV. |
