Bill Balog and B Squared Motorsports Win at Oshkosh Speedzone
- 4 Aug 2010
Bill Balog and his B Squared Motorsports team raced at Oshkosh Speedzone in Oshkosh, Wisconsin last weekend and Balog won his second Interstate Racing Association (IRA) race of 2010. The track had absorbed a good deal of rain and traction was breaking down with every lap. There were more cautions then usual too. Yet, lap-after-lap, one caution flag after another, Balog managed to consistently move forward and around traffic. By lap ten Balog was in the lead, and he battled the entire rest of the race with second place through lapped traffic to the checkered flag.
"Not only were the last ten laps exciting from a driver's perspective, but they were also exciting for the fans," remarked Balog. "The lapped traffic played a huge part in us getting the win. Any time the leaders get in lapped traffic the race becomes more interesting. It feel's awesome to get the second win of the year, we have been close on many occasions but to finally get in victory lane again, this is great." This was Balog's second win of 2010 but it's his ninth career IRA win overall, and we wondered if he felt as though the team was experiencing a momentum shift. "Absolutely, we are starting to get these Goodyear tires figured out and we are definitely hitting our marks right now. Hopefully we can continue this into the second half of the season, and pick up a few more wins." "We definitely feel like we have an upper hand going in to Elko Speedway," says Balog. Elko Speedway is located a half hour south of downtown Minneapolis. "We picked up a win at the facility in 2009. We seem to be on a roll here as of late, so hopefully we can continue that at Elko. Balog expressed his appreciation for K&N's continuing support for his efforts and hopes to return many more wins.
