Boost Power on your Harley® Twin Cam 96 or Twin Cam 103 with a K&N AirCharger

Big "hogs" have been owning the road since the first V-Twin engine was introduced in 1909. These legendary motors have seen many incarnations: Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, Evolution, and Twin Cam 88. The latest generations 2008-2011 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 96 V-Twin and the 2009-2015 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 103 V-Twin contain numerous innovations that are designed to provide the low end torque that Harley's are known for. Lightweight pistons allow the engine to create power faster, while balance shafts help to offset vibrations on ridged mount applications like the Harley Softail. But it doesn't matter which H-D® model you ride, you can boost the horsepower and torque by simply adding a K&N 63-1131P AirCharger performance intake system. Each Harley-Davidson spins that drive belt by filling its twin-cylinders with a combination of gasoline and air. Once this power mix is ignited by the spark plugs, the resulting explosion pushes the piston downward, turning the crankshaft, and ultimately the back wheel. But the gasoline has to have oxygen in order to burn in that explosion. To facilitate this, air is pumped to the cylinders through the intake system, which is located behind that chrome air cleaner cover on the side of your V-Twin engine. However, the iconic styling actually limits the volume of air that's able to enter the system, and that restricts the amount of horsepower and torque that your Harley Twin-Cam engine makes. The K&N 63-1131P AirCharger performance intake system takes care of this problem by opening up a direct airflow path to the cylinders. Plus, the heat resistant chrome finish blends with the look of any Harley Twin Cam 96 or Twin Cam 103. But of course, talk is meaningless without the proof to back it up. So to verify the performance of every K&N cold air intake, we conduct before & after dyno tests of the vehicles each system was designed for. Since the K&N 63-1131P AirCharger performance intake system will work on both the Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 96 V-Twin and Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 103 V-Twin, we tested a 2015 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide 103 ci, and found that it made 68.20-hp and 87.77 lb-ft at the rear wheel with the Harley-Davidson factory air intake and 75.00-hp/94.81 lb-ft after a K&N AirCharger intake was installed. That's an estimated increase of 6.80-hp and 7.04 lb-ft, which you'll certainly notice with a little throttle input.
