British Superbike Series Goes Well for UK Brothers on Yamaha Bikes
- 8 May 2007
Harrison Brothers Racing had a solid points weekend in the 3rd round of the
Derby Phoenix MCC Pre Injection 600cc Championship at Mallory Park in the UK.
“I was in 4th place position during race one and tried to pass the riders in front,” said Richie Harrison. “As we went into the last lap I was blocked by two riders. I was mad and went into the hairpin turn too hard and missed an apex. At the flag I was 9th. I returned to the pits fuming with myself. I calmed down and realized that I scored some points.”
In race two Harrison had a good run and was able to hold off most of the pack. “On the penultimate lap I used my position as we peeled down the track,” he said. “I was able to hold everyone off to the flag and also more points on the board.”
Harrison is running a 2000 Yamaha R in the Derby Phoenix MCC Pre Injection F600cc Championship. His younger brother Jonathan is running a 2006 Yamaha R1 in the Metzeler Racetec National Superstock Cup which is a support race to the British Superbike Series.
“Both bikes have K&N Air Filters,” said Harrison. “Both bikes are running extremely well with K&N. I have no worries with K&N and I can depend on the air filters to work at every race.”
For 2007 Jonathan Harrison hopes to be running in the top 15 during the season. “I hope to be in the top 3 and make it to the podium at the end of the year,” said Richie Harrison. “Currently I’m 4th in the series and hope to improve my position.”
Harrison Brothers Racing will be in rounds 4 and 5 at Cadwell Park in the UK on May 12th and 13th.
