K&N sponsored Team Waggoner Racing was on its game at the second event of the WE ROCK USA west coast series in Cedar City, Utah. Even though they took second place the first place series title is still within Cody and Jim Waggoner's reach.

Cody and Jim Waggoner had four tough courses, each run with its own element of difficulty

The teams were planning their runs carefully as they faced tricky hill climbs and off camber sections. An off camber situation is where vehicles ride sideways along a slope and are pointing neither straight up or down a hill.
Cody and Jim Waggoner ran the courses alone after teams broke on the first course of the day. “The guys seem to work better when they focus on what they need to do to get through the course,” said Lindsay Waggoner. “That way they don’t worry about what the other teams are doing and are able to get through the first courses with easily.”
There was a lot of carnage in Utah throughout the day. “It was a roll-over-frenzy,” said Waggoner. “Fortunately we were able to keep our buggy with K&N products on the rocks with no issues.”
By noon the team was ready to tackle the course which caused the majority of problems for most of the competitors. “Cody had trouble after backing up on top of a boulder at the time he was trying to line up for a climb,” said Waggoner. “He revved the engine and spit dirt everywhere. The bottom line was he was stuck. Jim finally stacked a smaller rock under the tire and Cody climbed up and off the boulder. Our K&N air filters kept our engines free of excess dust and debris.”
Unfortunately the Waggoner’s engine heated up along with the fuel take which caused the fuel pump to vapor lock. They were not able to complete the course because of the vapor lock and the team moved to fourth place overall for the day.
On Sunday, Team Waggoner had serious catching up to do. “We put ice packs around the tank to end the vapor lock problem,” said Waggoner. “Cody and Jim were determined to complete course-after-course with minimal penalty points. They narrowed the gap and moved into second place where they finished the event.”
Two more events remain in the series before the title is locked in.
