Chris Bell and His Brutus Motorcycle Bring New Meaning to the Word Electrifying

The Brutus line of electric motorcycles are powerful eco-friendly bikes that come in three styles; the Brutus V9 cruiser, the Brutus 2 sport bike and the Brutus 2 Café racer.
Motorcycles have been a staple in American culture since they were first introduced in the second half of the 19th Century. The quintessential symbol of freedom and rebellion, the motorcycle has been a symbol of disobeying the rules and defying convention. One of the most famous motorcycle manufacturers has captured this image better than any other; Harley Davidson. From the Terminator movies to Ghost Rider, these iconic cruisers are as rebellious as they come, until now. Through the standard noise of an internal combustion motor comes the silence of a powerful electric motor. Welcome to the Brutus line of electric motorcycles.
The cooling fans for the motor need just as much protection against harmful dust and dirt as the typical internal combustion engine so Chris Bell turned to K&N for an answer.
Created in 2009 by owner Chris Bell, these split personality, eco-friendly yet powerful bikes come in three readily available styles; the Brutus V9 cruiser, the Brutus 2 sport bike and the Brutus 2 Café racer. The powerful Harley Davidson-based V9 comes equipped with a 9" DC motor cranking out a ground churning 125 hp and 277 ft-lbs of torque. Capable of a top speed, limited only by gearing, of 125 mph, the Brutus V9 sets the curve on the ground breaking electric bike segment. "If we say it's going to do it, there are no excuses, it's going to do it," says Chris. With batteries the same as those used in the popular Tesla lineup, the Brutus motorcycles have modern technologies wrapped up in recognizable body work. With this much power comes the great responsibility to keep things cool while the throttle is twisted. This is where K&N comes into play.
K&N RC-5052AB Apollo universal air filter kit was the perfect solution for high flow performance and excellent motor protection.
The main goal behind building these fun to ride yet revolutionary bikes was to use as many parts from American companies as possible while maintaining a competitive cost and quality to rival even the big guys. The cooling fans for the motor need just as much protection against harmful dust and dirt as the typical internal combustion engine so Chris turned to K&N for an answer. The RC-5052AB Apollo universal air filter kit was the fix for this dilemma. Filtering the contaminants out of the air while providing plenty of air flow to the cooling system was just one major part of the Apollo's purpose; the other was its eye catching design that matched the Brutus V9 perfectly. Built with quality in mind, the K&N RC-5052AB intake kit provides great flow rates for small displacement motors, and even zero displacement motors.
One of the great features of the Brutus motorcycle line is that they use parts commonly found on Harley Davidson and Suzuki GSXR motorcycles. This makes it easy to customize the Brutus to meet any taste. With the future of the motorcycle industry embracing newer and better technologies, the ability of the manufacturer to maintain a leading edge product while still keeping costs low is a constant battle that will continue into the foreseeable future. With companies such as Brutus Motorcycles and K&N on the forefront, great products at a great price will continue to be available for a long time to come.
