Defending Grand Prix Champ Vows to Return to Series after Crash
- 31 May 2007
Defending Grand Prix Champion Jason Crump will be back in action at Denmark on
June 9th. The 31-year old Australian crashed in round three of the 2007 World
Speedway Series at Sweden’s Eskilstuna arena. He was unable to continue the race
after suffering injuries to his shoulder and collarbone.
Fortunately he was given the all clear on any breaks. “Jason dislocated his shoulder in the crash,” said Roy Stone, Jason Crump’s Media Relations Manager. “He is receiving daily physical therapy.”
Crump cancelled all of his commitments for this week at Poland, Sweden and the UK. “The doctors said the ligament and tissue damage in my shoulder will take time to repair,“ said Crump. “With daily treatment I will be okay to ride shortly. My shoulder was put back in its socket in Sweden and let me tell you it was painful.”
The Australian racer is currently 6th in World Championship Standings. He has used K&N Engineering products for years.
“I will be back in action at Denmark,” he said. “I will make round four of the 11 round Grand Prix.”
