Worsham came into the race in tenth place and quickly pushed his
special-edition Checker, Schuck's, Kragen Impala Funny Car past rookie Bob Tasca
in the first round. Worsham increased his series points total by having three
drivers ahead of him in points either fail to qualify or lose their first round
laps. It also added some breathing room for Worsham over Tasca who had entered
the race trailing him by a single point in the series

"I get up every morning and think about every qualifying run," Worsham said. "Between now and the Countdown, you can earn your spot or blow it on qualifying points."
Del Worsham and the CSK Team use K&N Engineering Oil Filters (HP-5001) every time they race. "The thick canister walls on the K&N Filters have extra strength and durability," said Team Worsham manager Bob Wilber. "It reduces the risk of damage from debris on the race track. We wouldn't dream of entering a race without K&N Filters."
Worsham's last win was in the special-edition K&N Filters/CSK Impala Funny Car at the 2008 O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston, Texas, defeating both John and Ashley Force.
Worsham and the CSK Team will look to increase their NHRA POWERade series points at the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals May 16th through 18th in Bristol, Tennessee.
