Increased Power for 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 Mini Cooper John Works Models with K&N Air Intake

The limited edition, Oxford, England-built Mini John Cooper Works GP is a crazy serious fun ride, in addition to being the fastest Mini yet produced. The JCW GP essentially splits the difference between the standard John Cooper Works hardtop and a Mini Challenge race car, complete with its substantial roof spoiler, raucous exhaust note, and flashy graphics package. Production is capped at 2000 units worldwide.

K&N Air Intake System for Mini Cooper John Cooper Works

The Mini John Cooper Works GP is powered by a specially-tuned version of the 1.6-liter engine which retains the S model's twin-scroll turbocharger, variable valve timing, and direct injection, but it now produces 218 hp at 6000 rpm, and a maximum of 207 lb-ft of torque for short bursts with an over-boost function. According to Mini this allows the JCW GP to scoot from 0-62 mph in just 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 mph. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, although an optional automatic is available.

For the "more is never enough" crowd, a built for performance and show, K&N Typhoon Series Air Intake (69-2025TS) will dial up the Mini John Cooper Works GP overall performance yet another notch, with an estimated 6 horsepower gain at 5602 rpm and an additional 4.6 foot-pounds of torque at 3164 rpm. The free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system is designed to fit perfectly under the hood of a JCW GP and to dramatically reduce intake restriction resulting in the additional power and torque.
