Isuzu Ascender, GMC Envoy and Chevy Trailblazer Owners Gain 9.5 HP with K&N Air Intake
- 15 Feb 2007
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is the best-selling version of a General Motors design
that includes the GMC Envoy and the Isuzu Ascender. The three models are
equipped with a fuel management system that help reduce gas consumption while
cruising.
K&N Engineering, Inc. has developed a 63 Series Air Intake Kit (63-3062) for 2007, 2008 and 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer 4.2 liter engine, 2006 to 2009 GMC Envoy 4.2 liter engine and 2007 through 2009 Isuzu Ascender 4.2 liter engine.
K&N dynamometer test showed an estimated horsepower gain of 9.5 @ 4725. "The factory tube shape was not efficient in getting the air box to the throttle body," said K&N performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "The placement of the mass air sensor, the dimension of the intake tube and the use of an open element K&N Air Filter is where we gained the additional horse power."
K&N's 63-3062 rotationally molded polyethylene air intake uses a K&N Universal Air Filter (RU-4730). The heat shield isolates the filter element from the heat of the engine. This results in cooler air going into the engine.
It takes less than 90 minutes to install most K&N air intakes with common tools. K&N air intakes come with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
