Jeep Wrangler V6 3.8 Liter Engine Gets More HP with K&N Air Intake System
- 22 Jun 2007
The Wrangler has been Jeep's signature for more than 50 years. In 2007 Jeep
purists were happy to see Wrangler's return to Jeep's traditional round
headlights.
K&N Engineering developed a 77 Series (77-1553KP) High-Flow Intake System in polished metal for the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Jeep Wrangler 3.8 liter V6 engine. K&N dynamometer test show a horsepower gain of 7.92 @ 4807 RPM.
To get a performance increase K&N replaced the Wrangler's original intake assembly, including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all new air intake design. The new system draws air through K&N a High-Flow Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (RU-4730) which increases airflow and filtering capacity.
A powder coated steel heat shield replaces the stock airbox and protects the K&N Air Filter by isolating it from engine heat. As air passes through the filter, it travels though a longer intake tube which uses a silicone hose that is mounted to the throttle body.
The heat shield bolts into the factory airbox location. The tube is supported by a bracket which is mounted onto the engine. Remove the factory air temperature sensor from the stock intake track then install it into the new K&N Air intake kit.
The 77-1553KP can easily be installed in 90 minutes or less and are backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
Find K&N products for your vehicle using the K&N application search then use the K&N dealer search to find a K&N dealer in your part of the world.
Air intake 77-1553KP will fit the following Jeep Wrangler models:
2011 JEEP WRANGLER 3.8L V6
2010 JEEP WRANGLER 3.8L V6
2009 JEEP WRANGLER 3.8L V6
2008 JEEP WRANGLER 3.8L V6
2007 JEEP WRANGLER 3.8L V6
