The leading Australian automotive retailer, Supercheap Auto has signed a new agreement with a world leading filter brand, K&N Air Filters. This new partnership will bring an extended line of quality K&N products being stocked in Supercheap Auto’s 300 stores across the Australian continent. The joint venture between Supercheap Auto and K&N Filters also includes K&N’s support of Supercheap Auto’s Australian V8 Supercars team and its driver, Tim Slade. Tim Slade drives the #47 Holden Commodore carrying prominent K&N branding and equipped with K&N filters for superior airflow and superior performance. Australian V8 Supercars is a touring car racing category based in Australia and run as an International Series under Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) regulations. The vehicles used in the series are loosely based on road-going, four-door saloon cars originally focused on the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore with more recent entries from Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo. Similar to NASCAR in North America, V8 Supercars series regulations control many aspects of the car to ensure equality between the manufacturers. The regulations were also designed to lower the costs of building and repairing a car. Australian V8 Supercars events take place all across the Australian states and includes one international race in Auckland, New Zealand for 2015.
K&N Engineering Inc. Sports Marketing Manager, Tony Yorkman said its new deal with Supercheap Auto provided an ideal scenario for K&N to increase sales and brand awareness in the important Australian automotive market. “Motorsports are in K&N Filters’ DNA, so it is only natural for us to partner with Supercheap Auto because it’s made of people who share our passion for racing and the company invests in motorsport marketing,” Yorkman said. “K&N is involved in almost every form of racing around the world, and the technology developed for motorsports is applied in our range of performance filters for road cars, trucks and motorcycles. We’re excited to team up with Supercheap Auto, and Supercheap Auto Racing in V8 Supercars, and we are looking forward to seeing the results of K&N Filters’ performance on and off track.” Supercheap Auto Promotions Manager, Dane Patterson said the company and its V8 Supercars program would play a key role in K&N’s growth in Australia. “The partnership with our V8 Supercars team also sends an instant message to consumers that Supercheap Auto is the place to buy K&N products,” Patterson said. Tim Slade, driver of the #47 Supercheap Auto Holden Commodore, said he is excited to see the automotive powerhouse brand on his car. “K&N Filters is an iconic brand and well known around the world as a premium, quality brand, so I’m proud to carry its logo on my Supercheap Auto Commodore,” Slade said.
