K&N Filters Teacher of The Month Award Presented By Kurt Chase of Automotive Edge
- 4 Dec 2014
Kurt Chase has spent nearly thirty years in the automotive industry but around seven years ago he decided to use his experience to benefit others. Kurt started his career as a car salesman in the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas. From there he quickly worked his way through the ranks until he was running car dealerships across Texas.
Kurt woke up one day and felt a calling to do something more than making money for the car dealerships. No amount of money was worth the 80 hour work weeks and in turn missing the formative years of his children’s lives. Kurt began to provide seminars to provide the car buying public with information they could use to their advantage over the dealership. These seminars led to the formation of The Automotive Edge Radio Show. In addition to helping hard working listeners to save money on car purchases and vehicle service, Kurt supports several philanthropic causes to better the lives of folks living in the Dallas Fort Worth area. One such program is the K&N Filters sponsored Teacher of the Month award. Each month listeners email the Automotive Edge to nominate their teacher and tell Kurt why they believe their teacher is deserving of the award.
Each month’s winner receives a little special treatment by way of a K&N Filters automotive makeover including free K&N air filter, oil filter, and cabin filters as well as an oil change. As if that's not enough, the Teacher of the Month will also receive a gift certificate. Recently Kurt Chase presented Mrs. Gina Mitchell, a kindergarten teacher from Independence Elementary School, with the teacher of the month award.
Mrs. Mitchell was nominated because of her dedication to teaching and her involvement with parents. Mrs. Mitchell’s students love her and try to impress her. Mrs. Mitchell has implemented an award system in her classroom allowing well behaved children to select a toy at the end of the day. The nomination said Mrs. Mitchell keeps the parents informed of daily activities like picture day or overdue library books. She writes emails very early in the morning or very late at night. She works off the clock quite a bit. After school is dismissed Mrs. Mitchell can be found manning the cross walks as a crossing guard while saying good bye to the students and parents. K&N is proud to be a sponsor of the Automotive Edge and the Teacher of the Month award. Kurt Chase is making a difference in the Dallas Fort Worth area by helping hundreds of people to save thousands of dollars as well as giving back to the community that has made him what he is today. |
