K&N GT3 Porsche to Race at Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
- 17 Apr 2008
The No. 96 K&N Engineering World Challenge GT car was on display at the Long
Beach Grand Prix celebration in the Circle Porsche showroom.
Paul Brown attended, along with fellow Porsche drivers Sascha Maassen and Patrick Long whose RS Spyder was also on display in the new showroom of California’s oldest Porsche dealership.
Brown demonstrated his driving technique and ability to focus in adverse conditions at the Sebring World Challenge GT race. He piloted the K&N Porsche to a top ten finish despite the weather, and without any incidents. The deluge had many veterans spinning through puddles and into tire walls in the season opener.
“We had quite a week at Sebring,” said Brown. “The World challenge race was barely controlled chaos. The rain had everyone scrambling to reevaluate setup and tires. In the end we stayed on dry tires and pushed forward to a satisfying finish.”
The team worked on the GT3 Porsche engine in the weeks between races. The second round of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will run April 18-20. SPEED-TV will air the event Wednesday April 30.
