K&N Has Partnered With Australian V8 Ute Racing Series & Points Leader Ryal Harris
- 13 Jul 2015
Current ARMOR ALL Drivers Championship leader Ryal Harris has partnered with legendary performance brand K&N Air Filters as an associate partner for the remainder of his 2015 campaign in the 2015 East Coast Bullbars Australian V8 Ute Racing Series. Additionally, K&N has established a 2-year deal with the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series to be the exclusive oil and air filter supplier to the Series.
K&N is a worldwide leading performance brand; synonymous with some of the world's leading racing categories. K&N’s involvement with V8 Utes is part of its renewed focus on Australian motorsports. Richard Smith, Business Manager from K&N Engineering, Inc. is looking forward to seeing K&N filters at the front of the field. “Ryal is the Championship leader and K&N is pleased to have the opportunity of working with the best teams and drivers in all the categories that we participate. The heritage of the K&N brand is racing and winning and we always look to support people who use our products to do this. In V8 Utes, being a production based race category, the vehicles are being asked to perform in conditions far in excess of what a regular road car performs. Thus, racers must use the best performance parts and brands, which is why most of them choose to use K&N.”
Ryal Harris is very happy to have the well-known performance air filter brand on board. "When I was a little boy, I used to draw race cars in my school books and I would always draw the K&N logo on all of them! It is such an honour to have K&N on board for the rest of the year, products carrying the K&N brand offer superior performance under racing conditions. That the parts we use in our V8 race Ute are also available for regular road cars is also very cool."
Ryal Harris and the Matt Stone Racing crew are looking forward to continued success racing in the 2015 East Coast Bullbars Australian V8 Ute Racing Series. The team’s goal is to bring home maximum points and keep the championship lead going during the remainder of the season. Ryal Harris has had to carry the 40kg success ballast as a result of leading the championship. The team hopes the weight will not slow the Ute down too much. "The weight hurt us up the hill in Perth, but we still somehow managed to come away with the win,” said Harris. The Australian V8 Ute racing series was designed to keep costs down, and make the racing entertaining for fans. Only entrants that hold a "license to compete" and are shareholders in the Australian V8 Ute Racing Company can compete. This restricts the field to an exclusive 32 entrants. Each round is based on a three race format with race two formatted as a reverse grid which can vary depending on the number drawn from a ballot. Race three’s grid is determined by the finishing positions from race one and two. As the exclusive oil and air filter supplier to the Series, the K&N logo will be featured on the front spoiler of all 32 V8 Ute cars. “K&N is an internationally renowned brand and to have them join the Series is testament to the strength of the V8 Ute category. We’ve been working with K&N for a number of years now, so it’s great to see the deal finally come together,” explained Category Manager, and member of Team SPHERIX Craig Denyer. |
