K&N’s Brad Baker Dominates Lima Half-Mile for 1st Win Of the 2015 Flat Track Season
- 9 Jul 2015
K&N sponsored Brad Baker put together his finest performance of the 2015 AMA Pro Flat Track season when he rode his K&N filters equipped No. 6 Factory Harley-Davidson to a clean sweep in Lima, Ohio by qualifying fastest, winning his heat race, the Dash for Cash and taking first place in the GNC1 main event at the Lima Half-Mile. This was Brad Baker’s first Harley-Davidson GNC1 presented by Vance & Hines victory of 2015 and his first elite class win at the Lima, Ohio half-mile track. The Lima, Ohio half-mile AMA Pro Flat Track event was originally scheduled to run on a Saturday, but inclement weather forced it to be pushed back a day. That Sunday's weather proved ideal, especially for Brad Baker. Henry Wiles jumped out to an early advantage in the GNC1 main event and led the first three laps before Baker got in front. On a restart due to an incident involving Jake Shoemaker, Brad Baker jumped to the lead and was never challenged for the remainder of the event. Second place went to Sammy Halbert, and Briar Bauman came home in third. "It was an amazing race," said Baker. "From the get go, I put the hammer down. Henry (Wiles) was doing really well and keeping me on my toes the entire race. I was pretty nervous at the beginning. I switched to the awesome factory suspension and since then, everything has been working really well. Big shout out to Terry Vance and Kris Schoonover, who couldn't be here because of the weather yesterday. Great job to everybody with AMA Pro Racing, Dean Gallup and the whole Lima crew. It's been an excellent time here." Brad Baker a 22-year-old Washington state native won the inaugural AMA Pro GNC2 Championship in 2009 and brought his career full-circle by winning the Grand National Championship in 2013. Unfortunately Baker suffered an offseason injury heading into the 2014 season and he got off to a slow start in his GNC1 title-defense campaign. After his AMA Pro Flat Track win in Lima, Ohio Brad Baker sits fourth in the Harley-Davidson GNC1 presented by Vance & Hines point standings. |
