Greg Adler showing how important K&N filters are on the race track down in Mexico
Greg Adler and his 4 Wheel Parts team had a great weekend at Estero Beach in Ensenada, Mexico, for rounds three and four of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The track is on the beach, which makes for a real sandy mixture causing a very harsh condition for the trucks and their motors. This is where the K&N air filters are needed the most, especially from the roosts from other trucks that can make it hard to see where they are going. Greg was able to work his way through all the roosts to have a strong weekend.

Greg started the weekend off with a strong qualifying session in his 4 Wheel Parts, K&N Filters Pro 4, putting him on the front row after the inversion. With the green flag waving, Greg and Doug Mittag would start the race full throttle. The two would start to pull away from rest of the trucks except Kyle LeDuc. These three would battle the entire race, swapping for the lead multiple times. By using clean and fast lines throughout the race, Greg ended up being in second place, with him and the leader completely separated from rest of the trucks. At the end of the race Greg would get his best finish of the year in second place for Saturday’s race. “It feels great to get back to the podium and to do it here in Baja,” said Adler. “We had good speed in Arizona for the first two rounds but some mistakes and mechanical issues cost us. With this big, fast course, the right suspension setup, tire combination, and motor got us up towards the front and we brought it home to a strong finish”.

Sunday’s race would prove to be more challenging for Greg and the team as they were looking at getting a second podium and possibly a win. Greg would start on the front row for Sunday’s race, and he would take the early lead. The race looked almost exactly like the previous race, with the same three drivers battling for the lead and pulling away from rest of the trucks. This track was very hard on the equipment and tires, and with only a few laps remaining while battling in the third spot, Greg would be one of many that would end up with a flat tire on the weekend. Greg was able to pull into the hot pits and his crew was able to put a new tire on allowing Greg to finish the race. “We were able to get back on course and finish the race, but after running strong all day, it wasn’t the finish to the weekend we were looking for,” said Adler. “But now we’re going into the next round with the momentum and confidence of knowing that we’re where we need to be and are only going to continue to improve.”

With Greg and the team getting their truck dialed in after the first season with the new truck, Greg is going to be someone to watch while he climbs the leader board. Greg has had good success at the tracks that are in the near future, so watch for him to be battling in the front and finishing on the podium rest of the season.
