NHRA Divisonal Event Pushes K&N Sponsored Racer to 7th Place
- 26 Oct 2007
Britt Cummings earned the Super Comp win at the NHRA Division 4 Lucas Oil
Divisional Series at Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Noble, Oklahoma.
With this victory Cummings has moved into the seventh position in NHRA national points and has a good chance to finish in the top ten standings. There are only three events remaining on the 2007 NHRA schedule.
The victory also pushed Cummings to the second spot in the Division 4 Super Comp standings, only one point behind Lloyd Parfait.
“It’s hard to say we’ve had a great season,” said Cummings. “We’ve got such high standards for ourselves and our race team. My brother Slate and I have won World Championships before, and finishing in the top ten does not feel like a great feat. The good new is we have had a solid season from top to bottom and we’ve finally made our mark in NHRA competition.”
In addition to Britt Cumming’s Super Comp success, Slate Cummings has also put together an impressive season in NHRA Super Stock and Super Comp. Slate plans to race in the NHRA LODRS event in Reynolds, Georgia. He has a shot at the Division 4 Super Comp championship and to finish in the national top ten in both Super Comp and Super Stock.
Cummings Motorsports is a family business from Hammond, Louisiana. “We have ten race cars,” said Cummings. “We use K&N Engineering Air and Oil Filters on all our vehicles. With K&N we’re faster and very consistent and the filters never give us a problem.”
The Cummings team will finish out the season in Pomona, California at the NHRA World Finals in November.
