NHRA POWERade Tour Resumes for Jeff Arend at Bristol Dragway in Tennessee
- 3 Jul 2007
Funny Car driver Jeff Arend will be racing his blue Checker, Schuck's Kragen car
with K&N products this weekend at the NHRA POWERade tour at Thunder Valley in
Bristol, Tennessee.
It will be the third stop on a six-week campaign which will be followed by Denver, Seattle and Sonoma. For Arend, the marathon started with great promise, but he said the best is yet to come.
“We had an outstanding race in Englishtown, and could very easily have won that event,” he said. “We lost by inches in the semi, to Tommy Johnson, and he went on to win it all. In Norwalk, the key accomplishment was getting qualified again. We are now the team with the longest current qualifying streak, at a massive 12 in a row. There is probably no better example of how consistent we’ve been all season than the streak. Our best days are just ahead of us.”
Team Worsham manager Bob Wilber said the key part to the accomplishment is the 11- for 11 streak. “Arend and his team have been on in 2007,” said Wilber. “He stands alone as the only Funny Car driver to have participated in all 11 races to this point, and he is bound and determined to keep that streak alive.”
Jeff Arend and his blue CSK Team use K&N Engineering Oil Filters (HP-5001) every time they race. “The thick canister walls on the K&N Filters have extra strength and durability,” said Wilber. “It reduces the risk of damage from debris on the race track. We wouldn’t dream of entering a race without K&N Filters.”
