Perma-Cool, best known for their race proven oil and transmission coolers, set out to build a unique Ram 2500 Mega Cab for the 2014 SEMA show. At first glance most people won’t notice the most significant change made to the Perma-Cool Ram 2500. However, hardcore Mopar fans are sure to point out that a Ram 2500 Mega Cab is not available with a long bed from the factory. They would be correct, as the Perma-Cool Ram 2500 Mega Cab Long Bed was created by a company out of Salt Lake City, Utah called Precision Body Lines. Precision Body Lines can be considered the premier Dodge Ram Long Bed Mega Cab conversion company. The company can take the full-size pickup with the most spacious interior, and convert it into a long bed in as little as three business days.

The Perma-Cool Ram 2500 Mega Cab Long Bed sits 5-inches higher than stock thanks to a Fabtech Motorsports lift kit and dirt logic shocks. 20” BMF Wheels wrapped in 37” rubber from Nitto Tires keeps this beast rolling over the road, or over anything in its way. The Lund rivet style fender flares,T-Rex Grilles billet aluminum grill, Iron Cross bumpers, Smittybilt XRC winch, and Vision X LED lights round out the off-road diesel performance look.

The 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel performance is helped along by several aftermarket products, including K&N air intake system 63-1568. This air intake system is guaranteed to provide an increase in horsepower and improve diesel performance for 2013 and 2014 Ram 2500 or 3500 models equipped with the 6.7L Cummins turbo diesel inline six cylinder engine. To complement the K&N air intake is the increased air flow into the 6.7L Cummins is a stainless steel exhaust system from Gibson Exhaust and a Juice with Attitude CTS programmer from Edge Products.

From the factory this 2014 Ram 2500 Mega Cab 6.7L Cummins diesel engine was equipped with a single oil filter oddly positioned so that every oil change results in busted knuckles and spilled motor oil. The folks over at Perma-Cool have developed a dual oil filter relocation kit to alleviate the mess and headache associated with an oil change on a 6.7L Cummins powered Dodge Ram. For the SEMA show, Perma-Cool used two K&N Wrench-Off oil filters HP-4003 on their Ram 2500 Mega Cab Long Bed. The 1” nut welded to the end of a K&N oil filter canister only further simplifies oil filter removal from the 6.7L Cummins diesel engine.
