Pro Modified Title Chase Heats Up with Rougeux Motorsports
- 9 Jul 2007
Yankee Doodle racing action kicked off its 32nd annual celebration at the
Central Pennsylvania Speedway on Independence Week. Del Rougeux Jr. and the
Rougeux Motorsports Team competed in the Modified Tour portion of the event.
Rougeux started on the pole of the first heat race event and took the lead. His Big Block Dirt Modified 2007X Bicknell Chassis with K&N Engineering air and oil filters cruised on to take the win in the ten-lap event.
“The K&N Products we use are second to none,” said Rougeux. “We race in very dusty conditions. K&N Keeps the dirt out of my carburetor. Our K&N air and oil filters work every time.”
The 35-lap feature started with Rougeux in the front row, in the second starting position. “The Frenchville Flyer” charged into the lead and was on his way to the win but competitor Ron Smoker had other plans. Smoker passed Rougeux on lap seven and went on to capture the win. The Rougeux Motorsports #20D was headed for a second place finish until hard contact from a fellow competitor caused Rougeux to take a step back on lap 33. He recovered from the incident to finish in third place.
“It was a great run at Del’s home track,” said Marcie Barlow of Rougeux Motorsports. “It will definitely keep Del in the hunt for the BRP/Hoosier Race Tire BRP Modified Tour 2007 title chase.”
The Rougeux Motorsports Team will be back in action next week at Sharon Speedway in Hubbard, Ohio.
