World of Outlaws Month of Money Means $100,000 for Donny Schatz
- 25 Jul 2007
Defending World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz admitted he wanted to win all
the big money races after his $50,000 win at the Kings Royal. He then dominated
at the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup to build his earnings to $80,000 in two
races. He added an additional $20,000 after another win at Williams Grove
Speedway at the Cleveland Brothers Summer Nationals.
Schatz is three for three in the so-called month of money. He raced his No. 15 ParkerStore J&J with K&N Products into the lead at the start of the race and led all 30 laps. Schatz held off Steve Kinser to score his 13th win of the season.
“It’s great to win again here at Williams Grove,” said Schatz. “We were fortunate. Steve was better than us, but we got to the rubber early enough to keep him behind us. You take the wins any way you can get them.”
Schatz now has 81 Outlaw wins and is more than 100 points ahead of the competition. He has also stood out by taking the first three month of money races.
“We’re not thinking about the point standings,” said Schatz. “Winning races is all the matters. It’s a huge accomplishment to win the Kings Royal, Silver Cup and Summer Nationals in eight days. We’ve got an unbelievable team now and we’re clicking really well.”
Schatz and the ParkerStore Team use K&N Engineering products. “The K&N Airbox works flawlessly,” he said. “K&N builds a superior product and we are able to attain maximum horsepower.”
Schatz will return to action again on Sunday night at Lebanon Valley Speedway near Albany, New York.
