The 2006 Legends Cars Championship Series continues in the UK with Chris Grieve
leading in points. Legends race cars are based on early Ford and Chevy bodies
built at 5/8ths scale. Ten different styles are produced with Yamaha 1200cc or
1250cc engines.

“The majority of competitors in the series use K&N Air Filters (RC-3510),”
said Ian Burdis of K&N Filters (Europe) Ltd. “The championship is a points based
series with points awarded in the heats and final. The races are held all over
the UK, and a few events are held in France.”
The fourth race at Oulton Park was the site of the largest UK Legends Cars grid
with 31 cars taking to the circuit. Dave Newsham was unstoppable and gave
everyone notice that the last three rounds of the championship will be intense.
Currently Newsham is second in the series, just 390 points behind leader Grieve.
Lawrence Davey took overall victory in Round 12 at Brands Hatch, placing him 4th
in overall points. The top five are Chris Grieve 6170 points, Dave Newsham 5780
points, Jamie Clarke 5740 points, Lawrence Davey 5570 points and Peter Morton at
4840 points.

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Explorer models are some of Ford's best SUV's with more power, improved
performance, greater comfort and high tech safety gear. They are some of the best
traditional midsize SUV's on the market today.
Air Filter for Ford Explorer, Explorer Sport Trac and Murcury Mountaineer
K&N Engineering has designed a filter (33-2353)
to fit in the factory air box of the 2006 to 2010 Ford Explorer 4.6L V8. The drop-in
design makes its easy to add performance, simply remove the disposable air
filter in the Ford Explorer and replace it with the K&N Air Filter.
The 33-2353 also fits the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Murcury Mountaineer and the 2007 to 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised
of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum
screen. The filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume
air flow. These particles cling to the outside of the filter and become
part of the filtering media.
The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase
horsepower and acceleration, while providing excellent filtration. The
(33-2353)
is 1 inch in height (25mm) with an outside length of 15.313 inches (389mm) and
an outside width of 8.188 inches (208mm).
K&N invented the concept of washable, reusable filters more than 35 years ago. K&N's stock replacement air filters for street vehicles are covered by our
famous K&N Million-Mile Limited Warranty and will be the last air filter your
vehicle will ever need.
The 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer packs a Corvette-derived 6.0 liter V8 that can
yield zero-to-sixty acceleration in 5.7 seconds. This SUV's performance
suspension was refined in Germany for great handling. Take a look at our 57-3061 features video to see dyno testing in progress.
AirCharger Air Intake for 2008 Chevy Trailblazer
K&N Engineering, Inc. has made a 63 Series AirCharger Intake Kit (57-3061)
for the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer 6.0 liter V8.
K&N test have shown a horsepower gain of 18.18 @ 5330 RPM with the
57-3061
Intake Kit. "We were able to get such good horsepower because the original
factory airbox is restrictive," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "The
design of the K&N Intake Tube and placement of the mass air sensor and is a big
reason why we were able to get so much power."
K&N's 63 Series (57-3061) uses
a Round Tapered Universal Air
Filter (RF-1032) that can fit into the engine compartment using factory holes and
mounting points. It takes less than an hour to install this kit and the lifetime
K&N Air Filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is required
depending on driving conditions. "We used the chrome top on the filter to add to
the appeal of the Trailblazer," said Heck. "It's a very straight forward
installation." Take a look at our 57-3061 installation video to see all the steps involved.
The 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Chevrolet HHR, which stands for Heritage High Roof has a distinctive
silhouette and a design that is similar to the 1949 Chevy Suburban. The
crossover vehicle has front-wheel drive with roots that lie deep in Chevrolet
history.
Air Intake for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Chevrolet HHR
K&N Engineering, Inc. has made a 63 Series AirCharger Intake Kit (63-3056)
for the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Chevrolet HHR 2.4L L4. "It's the first time K&N has used an airbox
in an intake kit," said Bert Heck, K&N Performance Kit Manger. "Designed for
maximum air flow the unique airbox keeps the engine heat away from the open
element air filter and provides a cooler air charge."
K&N tests have shown a horsepower gain of 9.33 @ 5325 RPM with the K&N (63-3056)
Intake Kit. K&N Engineers were able to get such good horsepower because the
original factory airbox and original filter were restrictive. The K&N Intake
Tube design along with our K&N Filter with radius adaptor are big reasons why
K&N was able to get so much power.
Bill Ferrell, an Upland, California resident bought a new HHR. He allowed K&N's
Research and Development Engineers to use his Chevy as a prototype for the 63
Series AirCharger Intake Kit (63-3056).
K&N Engineering has a
vehicle loan program. "It works this way," said Heck. "A vehicle owner
agrees to let us do testing on their vehicle. After K&N develops an intake, we
give the owner a free kit for the use of the vehicle. In this case the MSRP of
the intake is 399.00." For more information about loaning your vehicle for air intake development see the Vehicles Needed page.
"The HHR is a 4 cylinder, and when I bought it the car did not have a lot of
pizzazz," said Ferrell. "Now that my HHR has the K&N AirCharger Intake Kit it
has a lot of pizzazz. I can feel the power. It really is the difference between
night and day."
K&N 63 Series Air Intake Kits use a round tapered universal Air Filter (RC-5149)
that can fit into the engine compartment using factory holes and mounting
points. It takes less than an hour to install this kit and the lifetime K&N Air
Filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is required depending on
driving conditions.
Carl Renezeder has won four out of the last six races in the Pro-2 division of
CORR’s Lucas Oil Racing Series and sits only five points behind the leader.
Rounds nine and ten of a 16-race series took place this past weekend at Bark
River, Michigan.
On Saturday, the Pro-2 race got off to a very good start for Team
Renezeder’s Lucas Oil Nissan Titan. Renezeder reached the end of the land rush
start without a scratch on the truck and crossed the finish/start line in fourth
place to start the first lap. He closed the gap on the leader by lap seven of
the ten-lap race. Renezeder was positioned for another win, but a broken
accessory belt driveline put him in 13th place at he finish.
Sunday was a much better day for Team Renezeder. A successful start put
Renezeder in second place at the start of the first lap. By lap two, he passed
Travis Coyne for the lead and never looked back. Renezeder put win number four
in the history books and put himself back in the second place position in
points. Renezeder also sits second in the four-wheel drive division by 12
points.
“I want it all,” said Renezeder. “I want to celebrate the win, but I’m
disappointed with the rest of the results. As a competitor, it’s tough to
separate each race. We are grateful for the one win and glad to be in the hunt
for both championships.”
Team Renezeder Pro-4
The Laguna Beach, California racer has used K&N Engineering products since
he started his own team 8 years ago. “Carl will only use a K&N Filter,” said
Jennifer Bissett of Team Renezeder. “In the dust and heat K&N stops the dirt and
debris from getting into our engine. We’ve never had a problem on these trucks
with K&N Filters.”
Team Renezeder's next challenge is for the coveted BorgWarner Cup race, the
second of two “heavy metal” races this season.
