RIVERSIDE, CA, -- The leader in High-Flow Air Filters and Intake Kits for decades, K&N Engineering recently put the finishing touches on their Typhoon^® Intake Kit for the 2000 to 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STi (PN# 69-8001TWR).

Engineered on K&N's in-house dyno, the newest Typhoon^® kit boasts a number of unique features, including a "grivory" velocity stack for improved airflow, a special insulated shield to protect intake tube from heat (this is in addition to the powdercoated heat shield that keeps hot air from the air filter). Testing showed estimated gains of 12 horsepower at 5050 rpm on a stock (unmodified) 2004 STi.

Like all K&N Typhoon^® Intake Kits, the WRX STi kit is constructed of mandrel-bent 6061, aluminum tubing (2-3/4-inch tubing is used on the STi kit) and includes a CNC-machined, billet mass airflow sensor (MAS) adapter. Unlike other K&N 69-Series Typhoon^® High-Flow Intakes, this system features an STi exclusive, wrinkle red powder-coat finish to match the car's factory intake.
