K&N Fuel Filter for 2014-2015 Ram 1500 Has Low Restriction Media for Superb Fuel Flow

K&N fuel filter for Ram 1500 diesels

The K&N PF-4500 fuel filter features high capacity filter pleats, is 7.375-inches long, comes with an O-Ring, and is engineered to provide excellent fuel filtration.

One of the most powerful pickup trucks is the Dodge Ram. For example, the 2015 model's base engine was a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 305-horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The optional engines included a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel that generates 240-horsepower and 420-lb-ft of torque or a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 395-horsepower and 410-lb-ft of torque.

Rear-wheel drive was standard on the 2015 1500, but four-wheel drive was also available as an option. The standard truck also features coil springs, which reviewers said offered a "more comfortable and composed ride than most rival…" An adjustable air suspension that is capable of raising and lowering the truck was also available as an option.

The 2015 Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,450 pounds and haul up to 1,900 pounds when properly equipped. Journalists who test drove the pickup discovered that the diesel engine and V8 offer "ample power for towing…" and the available air-adjustable suspension limits squat when the truck is loaded down with a large payload or hooked up to a heavy trailer.

A quality, well performing fuel filter is essential in the performance of a vehicle like the Ram 1500 because it blocks dirt and debris particles from reaching the engine. If these rough grainy particles were not screened from the fuel system, they could cause rapid wear of the fuel pump and fuel injectors or could damage the engine.

To help assure that only fuel passes through the fuel system and reaches the engine of the 2014 and 2015 Ram 1500, K&N offers the K&N PF-4500 fuel filter. The cartridge fuel filter is built to withstand high flow rates and filtration capacity while offering outstanding fuel filtration. The high performance media is cellulose and glass that is engineered to trap contaminants including rust, dirt, scale, and any other foreign materials.

The diesel fuel filter is designed to replace the factory fuel filter and meets or exceeds OEM specifications. The filter is also backed by a 90-day replacement warranty for diesel fuel applications.

The K&N PF-4500 fuel filter is designed and engineered for the following vehicles:

2015 RAM 1500 3.0L V6 DIESEL
2015 DODGE 1500 3.0L V6 DIESEL
2014 RAM 1500 3.0L V6 DIESEL
2014 DODGE RAM 1500 PICKUP 3.0L V6 DIESEL

How Well Do You Know Jeeps? Take Our Quiz and Find Out

K&N air intake system 57-1506-2

The K&N air intake system 57-1506-2 is guaranteed to increase power to 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.3L engines by an estimated 24.7 horsepower.

1. What was the first time a GM engine powered a Jeep? Yes, although it was called the Jeep Dauntless V6, it was a cast-iron block Buick V6 engine developed from the (ahead of its time) Buick 215 CID all-aluminum V8. In 1967 GM sold the tooling to the 225 CID V6 to Jeep, as car buyers were mostly interested in V8s. Jeep then sold the engine back in 1974 to GM as AMC had purchased Jeep and didn’t require two six cylinder engines. BTW, the all-aluminum V8 went to Rover where it was in service for many years. And believe it or not, K&N still carries oil filters for the Dauntless V6, HP-2003.

K&N oil filter HP-2003

Did you know that there was once a Jeep with a GM engine? It was called the Dauntless V6 and K&N makes engine oil and fuel filters for it.

2. What role did the founder of Willys have in the development of the Jeep? None. John Willys, the founder of the company that popularized the Jeep, didn’t live to see the company’s most famous creation that carried his name. He died in 1935. And the correct pronunciation of his name is Willis, not Willies.

3. It’s known that Willys did not develop the original “Jeep” concept, but who did? The first concept of a Jeep was designed in 1938 by Karl Probst of the minuscule American Bantam Company of Butler, PA. The government liked what they saw but in no way was American Bantam capable of supplying wartime needs. Instead the production contracts went to Ford and Willys, who combined produced over 600,000 Jeeps during WWII. Owners of these Jeeps often look to replace the troublesome oil bath air filters and frequently select K&N filters ranging from a simple universal air filter to home-brewed cold-air intake systems with an oversized K&N conical air filter.

K&N snorkel air intake system 63-1573

K&N’s newest Jeep product is the 63-1573 intake system with snorkel for 2012-2016 3.6L Jeep Wranglers.

4. How many separate companies have owned the Jeep brand? 1944–1953: Willys-Overland, 1953–1970: Kaiser-Jeep, 1970–1987: AMC, 1987–1998: Chrysler, 1998–2007: DaimlerChrysler AG, 2007–2009: Chrysler LLC, 2009–Present: Chrysler Group LLC - Fiat Group Automobiles/Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. (That’s seven). And come next, K&N’s coverage for Jeep vehicles will extend back 50 years.

K&N air intake system 77-1553KP

Your 2007-2011 Wrangler with the 3.8L can benefit from added air and engine protection thanks to the 77-1553KP from K&N.

5. Did any other companies manufacture Jeeps? One example from Japan is the Mitsubishi-produced CJ-3B, built under license from 1953 to 1998. Over the years, the Japanese manufacturer updated the vehicle considerably, introducing its own engines, and even adding a four-door station wagon to the line. Owners of these unusual Mitsi Jeeps known for their hard-to-find parts have found a great alternative to the factory air filter in the K&N E-3650.

6. In 1996 Jeep fans rejoiced when the traditional front end styling returned with the introduction of the 1997 TJ model. Gone are the less-than-popular rectangular lamps of the previous YJ series. The redesign came in the midst of the retro-car movement, along with cars and trucks no longer with us, like the Ford Thunderbird, Chrysler PT Cruiser, and Chevy SSR. If you’re lucky enough to own a Jeep TJ, K&N makes oil and air filters cold air intake kits, like the 57-1514-1 Air Intake System for the 1997 – 2006 Jeep TJ 4.0L, which adds and estimated 12.1 horsepower to the TJ in K&N’s chassis testing.

K&N air intake system 57-1514-1

The 4.0L engines in 1997-2006 Jeeps was a popular option. K&N offers the 57-1514-1 intake system to help your 4.0L V-6 breather better.

7. What’s the highest a Jeep has climbed? Back in 2007, a team driving two Jeeps Wranglers set the Guinness Record for the highest climb by a 4x4, reaching the rim of the 21,804-foot-high Ojos del Salado volcano in Chile. When we see how much power cars lose as they reach the top of Pike’s Peak, we’re certainly it must have been slow going from the team in the 3.8 L V6 Wrangler at an even greater height. If your driving is mostly at lower altitudes, but still feed the need for some add whoosh, check out the K&N air intake system 77-1553KP for 2007 through 2015 Jeep Wranglers.

K&N air filter E-3650

If K&N doesn’t make an intake system for your Jeep, there is probably a replacement filter for it, like this E-3650 for Mitsubishi-built Jeeps.

8. What does a Jeep Forward Control, the flat-faced cab-over pickup, built by Jeep from 1956 to 1965, have to do with a hot dog? It was styled by famed industrial designer Brooks Stevens. You may not recognize his name, but you know his other designs: the 1949 Harley Davidson FL Hydra-Glide, the 1962 Studebaker Hawk Gran Turismo, even the Jeep Wagoneer. But perhaps most famously, Stevens is known for his design of the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile.

9. As you probably know, K&N makes cold air intake systems as well as air filters, oil filters, fuel filters, cabin filters and more. But did you know that one of the greatest increases in horsepower for a K&N intake kit is when fitted to a Jeep. Any guess which? When installed on the 5.2 L Grand Cherokee, model years 1993 through 1998, the system adds an estimated 24.7 horsepower at the rear wheels in K&N’s testing. If you own a 1990s era Grand Cherokee you need to check out K&N 57-1506-2.

10. Was there ever a Jeep that shared an engine with a Porsche? You bet. In 1976, America Motors then the owners of Jeep, installed a 2.0 L four cylinder OHC engine purchased from VW-Audi for use in its DJ-5G Postal Jeep along with some AMC passenger cars. Porsche used the same engine, but with fuel injection and electronic ignition, in the Porsche 924. Chances are you don’t own a DJ-5G but if you own a Porsche 924, check out what K&N offers for your car. Not surprisingly, the DJ-5G utilizes the same K&N HP-2004 as the Porsche 924.

This isn’t all either. K&N makes air filters, intake systems, and oil filters for thousands of Jeep models, like the new snorkel air intake system 63-1573 for 2012-2016 Jeep Wranglers with the 3.6L engine. Simply use the K&N search by vehicle tool to find out what products K&N makes for your vehicle. If you don’t see anything listed for your Jeep, use the online product request form and give K&N a suggestion of product you think should be made.

K&N Intake Kit for 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS is Guaranteed to Increase Horsepower

K&N Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System 71-3092

The K&N 71-3092 Blackhawk Induction Air Intake System offers more air to the engine than the stock air intake.

When car buffs gather to talk about muscle cars there is no doubt that the Chevrolet Camaro gets mentioned. Introduced during the 1967 model year, the two-door coupe or convertible came in three packages - RS, SS, and Z28. A 230-cubic inch (4.1-liter) inline-6, 302-cubic inch (4.9-liter), 307-cubic inch (5.0-liter), a 327-cubic inch (5.4-liter), 350-cubic inch (5.7-liter), 396-cubic inch (6.5-liters), or a 427-cubic inch (7.0-liter) V8 engine powered the first generation Camaro.

The 230-cubic inch inline-6 that delivers 140-horsepower or the 327-cubic inch V8 that generates 210-horsepower were the standard choices. The RS included hidden headlights, revised taillights with back-up lights under the rear bumper, an RS badge, and exterior bright trim. The SS was a performance package that included a 350-cubic inch or 396-cubic inch V8 engine and chassis upgrades for improved handling and to deal with the additional power. It was also available with non-functional air inlets on the hood, special striping, and an SS badge. The Z28 was the performance package that included modifications so that it could compete in the SCCA Trans-Am series races. The standard engine was a solid-lifter 302 V8, which was mated to a 4-speed transmission. It also included power disc brakes and two wide stripes down the hood and trunk lid.

K&N Chevy Camaro Air Intake 71-3092

Once installed, the kit will give you something to be proud of when opening the hood on your Camaro SS.

The variety of packages ensured that Chevrolet blanketed the personal car market with all possibilities from a nice, plain docile V6 to a fire breathing V8. Four generations of the Camaro were produced between 1967 and 2002. The fifth generation did not immediately follow because the F-Body platform was discontinued due to slowing sales caused by gas shortages and focus on better gas mileage. The belated fifth generation Camaros started driving off the assembly lines in 2010. The car had been totally redesigned and included a new platform. It was based on the 2006 Camaro Concept and 2007 Camaro Convertible Concept, which had somewhat of a retro appearance to the Camaros of the 1960s.

The new generation models included three trim levels - the LS, LT and SS. A 3.6-liter (220-cubic inch) V6 engine that delivers 312-horsepower powers the 2010 and 2011 LS and LT models. Buyers had a choice of either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift. A 6.2-liter (376-cubic inch) LS3 V8 engine that generates 426-horsepower runs the SS and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. An L99 V8 engine that offers 400-horsepower is included in the automatic SS. The RS appearance package was available on the LT and SS trims and includes 20-inch wheels, halo rings around the Xenon headlamps, a spoiler, and a red RS or SS badge.

The sixth generation model was unveiled in May 2015 for the 2016 model year. Weighing 200 pounds less than previous Camaros, the 2016 version comes in three trim levels - the LT, SS, and ZL1.

There is a choice of four engines to power the car. They include:

  • 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline-4 that produces 275-horsepower
  • 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 335-horsepower
  • 6.2-liter LT1 V8 generates 455-horsepower, for the SS Model
  • A supercharged LT4 engine based on the Corvette Z06 is for the ZL1

No doubt owners of the newest Camaro want to keep the car in pristine shape. K&N offers the K&N 71-3092 Blackhawk induction air intake system to do just that. The free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube is guaranteed to increase horsepower and is designed to improve throttle response and engine sound. It includes a synthetic washable and reusable air filter that lasts for up to 100,000 miles before service is required.

K&N also offers air filter cleaning kits that are specially formulated to cleanse the filter every 100,000 miles, depending on driving conditions.

The low restriction air intake system supplies the engine with a larger amount of air than the stock air intake. It comes with black components and a heat shield for the air filter as well as a textured black powder-coated welded tube that accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose. There is also an engraved K&N plate that gives the intake system a high-performance appearance.

The 71-3092 Blackhawk induction air intake system can be installed in about 90 minutes using the existing factory mounting points and common hand tools.

The 71-3092 intake kit is designed for the following vehicles:

K&N Fuel Filter for 2014-2015 Ram ProMaster Cleans Fuel Before It Reaches Your Engine

K&N Fuel Filter

The K&N PF-4400 Fuel Filter is a factory replacement fuel filter that blocks contaminants including rust, dirt, scale and other foreign materials from invading the fuel system and engine of 2014-2015 Ram ProMaster vans.

The Ram ProMaster is a van similar to the Fiat Ducato. The main difference between the ProMaster and the Ducato is that a 3.6-liter, 24-valve V6 gasoline Chrysler Pentastar engine powers the ProMaster. The engine is mated to a Chrysler 62TE 6-speed automatic transmission. An Iveco 3.0-liter, 16-valve L4 diesel JTD engine called the EcoDiesel by Chrysler mated to the M40 6-speed manual transmission is available as an optional powertrain.

It is offered in three wheelbases –- 118-inch, 136-inch, and 159-inch. It also includes four different body lengths –- 195-inch, 213-inch, 236-inch, and 250-inch. The two longest body lengths come with the 159-inch wheelbase and two different heights –- 88-inch and 99-inch.

The only van in its class with front-wheel drive, it comes in five body configurations:

Cargo Van (available in all sizes)
Window Van/Glazed Van (159-inch wheelbase and 99-inch roof height)
Chassis-Cab (136-inch wheelbase)
Cut-Away (159-inch wheelbase)
Passenger Van

K&N offers the PF-4400 fuel filter for the 2014 and 2015 Ram ProMaster 1500 van. It features a high-performance cellulose glass media that helps trap contaminants including rust, dirt, scale, and other foreign materials from traveling from the gas tank through the fuel system to the engine. If these impurities are not stopped, they could cause rapid wear of the fuel pump and fuel injectors. This could result in failure of the fuel pump or injectors and a vehicle that will not run.

The filter is designed to replace the factory filter. The filter is 6.875-inches in length, permits a high flow rate of fuel and includes high capacity filter pleats for excellent fuel filtration. It is backed by a 90-day replacement warranty for diesel applications.

The K&N PF-4400 fuel filter fits the following vehicles:

2015 Ram Promaster 1500 3.0L L4 Diesel
2014 Ram Promaster 1500 3.0L L4 Diesel

K&N Filters Sponsors the 2016 AMA EnduroCross Season Again

2016 AMA EnduroCross season

You won't want to miss the 2016 AMA EnduroCross season.

The ultimate multitaskers of the motorcycle world may just be EnduroCross racers. The amalgamated name is an appropriate combination of enduro and motocross. The hybrid sport of EnduroCross takes the elemental obstacles of enduro racing - rocks, logs, water, and dirt and arranges them into an arena with the jumps, berms, and compact spaces of motocross. For good measure, the technical skill of a trials competition is included in the mix.

K&N is returning as a sponsor of the AMA EnduroCross Championship Series for 2016. As the official air filter of the racing series, K&N is excited about the competition, which kicks off on August 27. The first leg of the 2016 EnduroCross season will be contested in Duluth, Georgia and the series includes stops in eight US states. There is a decidedly left coast bias to the schedule with six of the eight races being staged in the west. Since the AMA National Enduro series is contested primarily in the eastern and central time zones, the EnduroCross series is a great opportunity for Western race fans to share in the fun.

Cody Webb is the two-time defending AMA EnduroCross Champion and will fight to defend his title in 2016. Webb takes the term multitasking to an entirely new level. Not only is he a national champion in both MotoTrial and EnduroCross, Webb is also a recent university graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering. Come to think of it, Webb's accomplishments go beyond multitasking. The guy is a true renaissance man.

Toyota Tundra

If you own a car, truck, bike, or anything else with an engine, we probably make a filter for it. Use the K&N vehicle search tool to find what K&N makes for your needs.

The EnduroCross series is ultra-competitive, with a number of riders possessing the talent to take the championship. The 2015 title was decided in the last race with Webb holding off Colton Haaker's hard-charging bid to capture the big trophy. Along with Webb and Haaker, Mike Brown, and Cory Graffunder are other returning key contenders for the 2016 title. Because of the multi-disciplinary nature of EnduroCross, the sport attracts competitors who have cut their teeth in various forms of racing.

One of the biggest reasons for the buzz surrounding the upcoming season is the return of Taddy Blazusiak to the starting grid. Blazusiak is a 5-time EnduroCross champion who took a one-year hiatus in 2015 to focus on other forms of racing. The fact that his front wheel will again be touching the starting gate in EnduroCross arenas is reason for excitement. The clash between Polish-born Blazusiak and the American Webb should provide even more fireworks in the EnduroCross series in 2016.

If you are even a casual race fan, give EnduroCross a look at one of the series venues. It's a high-octane smorgasbord of exciting obstacles and skilled racers.

And if you need an air filter for your bike or truck, check out the K&N search by vehicle tool to find the right part for your vehicle.
