K&N's SU-1308R for Suzuki's 2008 through 2016 Hayabusa GSX 1340
K&N's SU-1308R replacement filter is for asphalt racing use only. The specially designed 2
ply filter is less restrictive and produces more air-flow CFM (cubic feet per
minute) for it's 1340cc, DOHC liquid-cooled 16 valve engine. The panel air
filter features K&N's washable reusable design and uses the stock
screws to hold the air box lid in place.

K&N removed the stock intake tube, replaced it with a aerodynamic K&N intake tube and relocated the throttle body to create more power and performance.
The 57-2568 also features a large chrome top K&N air filter. The air filter,
RF-1020, rests behind a powder coated steel heat shield. This helps isolate it from the rest of the engine compartment. Cooler outside air is directed toward the K&N air filter from the factory fresh air duct. The K&N air intake system replaces the restrictive stock air filter. Cooler air enters the engine for an immediate power gain.

One of the reasons for such a high increase in horsepower is the large free-flowing K&N chrome top air filter (RF-1048). The factory air box is restricted in size and restrictive in air flow especially at higher RPMs. K&N designed a larger intake tube that fits nicely under the front stabilizer.
The tube is oval because the throttle body is also oval. This design means the cross section is larger. The estimated 53.7 horsepower gain is also aided by the radius adaptor's design as it smoothly takes the 6 inch flange of the air filter and mates it with the air intake tube.
The heat shield isolates the filter element from the heat of the engine which results in an immediate flow of cooler air for additional power. It takes less than 90 minutes to install this K&N air intake system. This intake will eliminate much of the air path restriction and let your engine breathe freely.
