took a look at how families used their cars and diversified with a new model
based on the compact car concept. It is not available in the United States.
K&N's 57-0682 Air Intake Kit for the Daihatsu Materia
K&N Engineering has developed a new air intake system
(57-0682) for the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Daihatsu Materia with 1.5 liter and 1.3 liter engines. The 1.5 liter engine was
designed by Daihatsu for high speed driving and fuel efficiency, the 1.3 liter
engine offers low and mid-range torque for stop and go city driving and fuel
efficiency.
The K&N intake system converts the enclosed air box into an exposed conical K&N
air filter for increased power and filtration. The
57-0682 comes with custom
mounting hardware to fit specific vehicle applications.
Metal and rubber adaptors allow the K&N air filter to remain firmly in place to
feed cool free flowing air into the engine to help improve performance. It takes
90 minutes or less to install this air intake kit with simple hand tools.
It is also backed by the famous K&N
Million Mile Warranty.

K&N sponsored Team Waggoner Racing was on its game at the second event of the WE ROCK USA west coast series
in Cedar City, Utah. Even though they took second place the first place series
title is still within Cody and Jim Waggoner's reach.

Team Waggoner revs up its engine and spits dirt everywhere trying to get in line for a climb at Cedar City, Utah
The weather was warm and the crowd was out in full force from the
beginning of the event. There were four tough courses set up for the first day, each with its
own element of difficulty.
Cody and Jim Waggoner had four tough courses, each run with its own element of difficulty
Team Waggoner is in the hunt for the first place series title in the WE ROCK USA series
The teams were planning their runs carefully as they faced tricky hill climbs
and off camber sections. An off camber situation is where vehicles ride sideways
along a slope and are pointing neither straight up or down a hill.
Cody and Jim Waggoner ran the courses alone after teams broke on the first
course of the day. “The guys seem to work better when they focus on what they
need to do to get through the course,” said Lindsay Waggoner. “That way they
don’t worry about what the other teams are doing and are able to get through the
first courses with easily.”
There was a lot of carnage in Utah throughout the day. “It was a
roll-over-frenzy,” said Waggoner. “Fortunately we were able to keep our buggy
with K&N products on the rocks with no issues.”
By noon the team was ready to tackle the course which caused the majority of
problems for most of the competitors. “Cody had trouble after backing up on top
of a boulder at the time he was trying to line up for a climb,” said Waggoner.
“He revved the engine and spit dirt everywhere. The bottom line was he was
stuck. Jim finally stacked a smaller rock under the tire and Cody climbed up and
off the boulder. Our K&N air filters kept our engines free of excess dust and
debris.”
Unfortunately the Waggoner’s engine heated up along with the fuel take which
caused the fuel pump to vapor lock. They were not able to complete the course
because of the vapor lock and the team moved to fourth place overall for the
day.
On Sunday, Team Waggoner had serious catching up to do. “We put ice packs around
the tank to end the vapor lock problem,” said Waggoner. “Cody and Jim were
determined to complete course-after-course with minimal penalty points. They
narrowed the gap and moved into second place where they finished the event.”
Two more events remain in the series before the title is locked in.

Raceway at Mohnton, Pennsylvania. The teen sisters and Junior Dragsters said
both of their cars were running great in their ninth race of the season.
Heather Bell will move from Junior Dragsters to Front Engine Dragsters after her high school graduation
“Allison went out on the first round,” said Heather Bell. “But I continued on to
win the race. All day my lights were really good.”
Heather Bell's win with a .0017 margin at Maple Grove Speedway
At the final Heather Bell had a heads-up race with another main
competitor. “We both dialed an 8.00,” she said. “I didn’t push the tree hard,
but my light was a little better than his. We both ran our number, he had an
8.009 and I had a 8.002. I won with a .0017 margin of victory.”
Team Bell uses K&N Engineering products. “We put new K&N air filters on at the
beginning of the season and the cars are running great,” said Team Manager Rick
Bell. “This is Heather’s last year in Junior Dragsters and we’re planning on
moving her up to Front Engine Dragsters with K&N.”
Heather Bell is currently third in points and Allison is in the eighth spot out
of 42 racers in Pennsylvania.
