The No. 6 K&N Filters Team and Travis Kvapil headed to Phoenix, Arizona with
high hopes and confidence but could not seem to shake the bad luck. A record 13
cautions waved over the 150-lap NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race which
included an incident on lap 55 that severely damaged the No. 6 K&N Ford F-150
and forced Kvapil to settle for 23rd place.

The weekend started out well at Phoenix International Raceway for Kvapil
as the K&N Ford F-150 surfaced to the top of the speed charts during both
practice sessions on Thursday.

Kvapil turned a fast lap time of 27.444 seconds at Friday’s qualifying session
and placed third for the start of Friday night’s race. At lap 16 the first of 13
cautions hit the track. Kvapil reported that his truck needed more tire grip. On
lap 35 caution number four started the first round of pit stops for Kvapil.
Kvapil took on four tires, re-fueled and made a slight track bar and air
pressure adjustment. The K&N team returned Kvapil to the track in fourth for the
re-start on lap 40 where Kvapil battled for position.
As the race continued, Kvapil raced three-wide for position and was a top
contender. On lap 55 he was passing the No. 47 when it turned into Kvapil and
sent him into the wall. The No. 6 truck was wrecked. Kvapil made several more
trips down pit road while the K&N team worked diligently to fix the toe and
other problems on the Ford.
When it was all said and done, Kvapil crossed the line in 23rd as Kyle Busch
went on to win. “It’s really unfortunate,” said Kvapil. “We had a great truck
for the race and the entire K&N team worked really hard. It’s frustrating that
we have such great stuff and keep having bad luck. We will be back next week at
Miami.”
Kvapil is third in the point stands for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He
returns to action next week for the final race of the 2007 season at
Miami-Homestead with all the action carried live on SPEED-TV.

Donny Schatz and his motorsports team were crowned champions for the 2007 World
of Outlaws season at the Hilton University Plaza in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It was the second consecutive World of Outlaw crown for Schatz.
Donny Schatz dominated the 2007 WoO Season
“There are so many people to thank for this,” said Schatz. “It starts with
people like the late Ted Johnson who built this series from scratch 29 years
ago. Racers like Steve Kinser, who is the greatest sprint car driver, and the
World Racing Group for keeping us headed in the right direction.”

The evening capped off a career season for the Fargo, North Dakota racer. He
took his Global ParkerStore sponsored J&N with K&N Engineering products to win
the World of Outlaws championship by 146 points over Joey Saldana. Schatz season
included 71 top ten finishes in 75 A-feature events. He led the series in nearly
every category including 19 feature wins, 467 laps led, 53 top five finishes and
12 Crane Cams Dash wins.
Schatz also made history by becoming the first driver to win five of the major
races in the same season. He won all four “Month of Money” events, the Kings
Royal, Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup, Williams Grove Summer Nationals and the
Knoxville Nationals.
“We had a great year,” said Schatz. “We were determined to try and surpass some
of the things we did last year and we were able to. Each championship is special
because the paths we took to win each one was different.”
There is no time off for the 2007 champion. Schatz is in the southern hemisphere
where he’ll be behind the wheel of a sprint car Friday night at Kwinana Beach,
Western Australia. It’s the first round of action for the World Series Sprint
Cars.
“We flew to the other side of the world and really enjoy racing there,” said
Schatz. “Most of our focus is on racing in Sydney at Parramatta City Raceway.”

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 combines capability, utility and distinctive
style with a 6.1 liter V8 engine. Add on the Street and Racing Technology's (SRT)
approach to performance and the result is a powerful new Jeep.
Air Intake for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Jeep Cherokee

K&N Engineering has designed a high-flow air intake system (57-1555)
for the Air Intake for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Jeep Cherokee with the 6.1 liter V8 engine.

K&N dynamometer testing shows a 12.0 horsepower gain @ 5000 RPM. The 6.1 liter
engine is new for this vehicle. K&N designers removed the OE air box and intake
and built a larger, by diameter, intake tube to open up the breathing capacity
necessary for the 6.1 liter engine to get the full amount of air it needs. The K&N cold air intake design provides
excellent air filtration and lower restriction than the factory air box system
resulting in an immediate power gain.
A large chrome top K&N high flow air filter (RF-1042)
allows free flowing air into the intake tube. The heat shield assembly is
installed into the engine bay using factory mounting points. The heat shield isolates
the K&N air filter from the hotter temperatures around the engine and allows it
to receive a consistent flow of fresh cooler air. K&N used one of the largest
filters in stock for this intake system to allow virtually unrestricted air flow and increased dirt
capacity.
K&N also incorporated a radius adapter at the entrance to the intake tube to
help smooth out air flow coming through the air filter. The
57-1555
can be easily installed
in 90 minutes or less and is backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
The Hummer H3 is related to GM pickups like the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC
Canyon. It has the same five-cylinder engine with the Colorado and the Canyon
and shares about 15 percent of its components.

K&N Engineering has designed a polished high-flow air intake system (77-3065KP)
for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Hummer H3 3.7 liter I5 engine, the 2007 to 2012 GMC Canyon 3.7 liter I5
engine, and the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado 3.7 liter I5 engine.

K&N dynamometer testing shows a 7.19 horsepower gain @ 4533 RPM. K&N's air
intake design provides excellent air filtration and lower restriction than the
factory air box system resulting in an immediate power gain.
A large chrome top K&N high flow air filter (RF-1048)
allows free flowing air into the mandrel bent aluminum intake tube. The heat
shield assembly is installed into the engine bay in the factory location. The
heat shield isolates the K&N air filter from the engine compartment and allows
it to receive a consistent flow of fresh cooler air.
The air intake includes an air pump filter in the heat shield that connects to the factory line.
This K&N performance air intake is designed to work with the factory emissions system.
